Publication Ethics
JILWSD is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and upholds guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), DOAJ, and internationally recognised publishers.
Duties of Authors
- Submitted work must be original, previously unpublished, and not under review elsewhere
- Research methods and data must be accurately and completely reported; falsification, fabrication, or selective reporting is a serious breach
- Authorship must reflect genuine intellectual contribution; all sources must be appropriately cited
- Authors must obtain permissions for any copyrighted material used
- Errors discovered post-publication must be promptly communicated to the Editor-in-Chief
Duties of Editors
- Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, not commercial or personal interests
- Manuscripts are treated with strict confidentiality throughout the editorial process
- Editors must recuse themselves from manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists
- All authors receive fair treatment regardless of gender, ethnicity, nationality, or institutional affiliation
Duties of Reviewers
- Maintain confidentiality of manuscript content; do not exploit unpublished data
- Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations
- Declare any conflict of interest; alert the editor to suspected ethical violations
Misconduct Handling
Upon confirmed or alleged misconduct, JILWSD follows COPE flowcharts and may:
- Reject the submitted or retract the published manuscript
- Formally notify the author's institution
- Blacklist the author(s) from future submissions
- Report to relevant professional bodies or funding agencies
