Plagiarism Policy

JILWSD maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and any form of intellectual dishonesty. All submitted manuscripts are screened using industry-standard detection software before peer review.

Definition of Plagiarism

• Verbatim copying of text without quotation marks and citation
• Paraphrasing another work without attribution
• Reproducing figures, tables, or data without permission and citation
• Self-plagiarism: reusing substantial portions of the author's own published work without disclosure
• Duplicate submission: submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously
• Salami slicing: artificially splitting one study into multiple papers

Similarity Thresholds

> 50%	Severe	Immediate rejection; institution notified

Consequences

• Pre-publication: Immediate rejection with formal notification to the author's institution
• Post-publication: Retraction with COPE-compliant notice and permanent record on the article page
