Retraction Policy

JILWSD follows the COPE Retraction Guidelines. Retraction is a mechanism for correcting the published literature when serious problems call into question the reliability of reported results or the ethical standards of the research.

Grounds for Retraction

• Confirmed plagiarism or duplicate publication of substantially similar content
• Fabrication or falsification of data, results, figures, or images
• Undisclosed conflicts of interest that substantially affect the interpretation of findings
• Fundamental errors in design, analysis, or conclusions that invalidate the work
• Unethical research conduct (e.g., absent IRB approval, lack of informed consent)
• Legal issues: copyright infringement, defamation, privacy violations
• Ghost, gift, or forced authorship

Retraction Process

• Concerns may be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief at editor@jilwsd.or.id
• Editorial team conducts a preliminary investigation (COPE flowcharts) within 30 days
• Authors are formally notified and given an opportunity to respond
• A formal Retraction Notice is published and linked to the original article
• The original article remains accessible with a clearly visible retraction watermark
• The article record in all databases is updated to reflect the retraction

Expressions of Concern and Corrections

Where an investigation is ongoing or an error does not invalidate the article's findings, the Editor-in-Chief may issue an Expression of Concern or a Correction/Erratum, as appropriate.
